Details on who can apply for the summer school, and how to apply.

This opportunity will not be running in the summer of 2025/25
Deepen your understanding of global challenges and the UN Sustainable Development Goals by joining an international cohort of like-minded people for five inspirational summer weeks from 27 June to 2 August 2024 delivered by the University of Gothenburg.
You will choose one of five courses in the areas of education, politics, biology or humanities to deepen your understanding of contemporary sustainability challenges and possibilities. You will also participate in extra-curricular activities such as tours of the city and going on excursions.
Accommodation is guaranteed in one of the University of Gothenburg's centrally-located student housing complexes costing approximately £300 for the period of the summer school. There is no tuition fee for summer school.
All courses are at the bachelor’s level and taught in English. There will also be a mix of digital social activities. More information can be found on the Gothenburg Summer School website.
To take part students need to apply to be selected for nomination by Goldsmiths.
How it works
The summer school is accepting nominations of two students.
As such, we are opening an application for Goldsmiths students of which a panel will be held after applications close to decide which two students to nominate. When this has been decided, we will nominate the two students. Gothenburg will then share details of their internal application to the students. They will then make the final decision on whether to accept the student(s) or not.
The benefit of applying this way is that if Gothenburg accepts you, the tuition fees will be waived as we are partners with the University. Instead, you would only need to pay your living expenses! On top of this, any students accepted by Gothenburg will receive a Turing grant – grant amounts by country can be viewed here.
Who can apply
This opportunity is available to all full-time and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate students who meet Turing’s Widening Access criteria. You must be in good academic standing and must not be in debt to Goldsmiths. Both international and UK students can apply.
Priority will be given to continuing students (ie not graduating summer of 2024) and those who have not already received funding for a summer opportunity before.
How much will it cost?
Funding is available to support costs such as travel, subsidence, and accommodation. There are no tuition fees charged for the summer school.
How do I apply
