Please join us for the Launch of the New Art Studio, a therapeutic art studio for refugees and asylum seekers and an exhibition of extraordinary paintings made by artists who have been forced into asylum.
Exhibition opens on Friday 30th October, 6-9pm
Saturday 31st we will hold a Panel Discussion from experts in the field of asylum and therapy. 1- 6pm
Sunday 1st will be an Art Making day, where you are invited to get creative and experience the power of group art making. 1-6pm.
The studio is run by Art Psychotherapists Tania Kaczynski and Jon Martyn (Goldsmiths)
The New Art Studio a vital project that provides a therapeutic art studio for asylum seekers, refugees and survivors of human cruelty. It is run by two art psychotherapists who are highly experienced at working with trauma and the use of art as an aid to psychological recovery.
The Helen Bamber Foundation is a human rights charity based in London which was founded by Helen Bamber in 2005. Their specialist team of therapists, doctors and legal experts hold an international reputation for providing therapeutic care, medical consultation, legal protection and practical support to survivors of human rights violations.
The Sutasoma Trust is a charity supporting projects, worldwide, that are educational and humanitarian in orientation. Sutosoma funding supports projects to embrace all ages and genders, in varied ethnic and social groups, without discrimination. The Sutasoma Trust has a keen interest in human rights, especially in view of the current, shocking, treatment of refugees and asylum seekers
