Event overview
This seminar will explore children’s experiences of domestic violence and it will link into the work on a Domestic Violence strategic review in the City of London.
In particular, it will focus on the dynamics and effects of domestic violence on children, and will provide an overview of some of the key research and practice evidence in the following areas:
• What is known about domestic violence
• The impact of domestic violence on children and adolescents
• Links between domestic violence and child abuse
• The effects of domestic violence on parenting
The seminar will be introduced by Ade Adetosoye OBE Director Department of Community & Children's Services City Of London and Chair of the Domestic Abuse Forum

Current findings and research: Professor Claudia Bernard is Head of Postgraduate Studies in the Department of Social, Therapeutic and Community Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London
Dr Suzanne Martin Leader of MA in Understanding Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse, Department of Social, Therapeutic and Community Studies at Goldsmith, University of London
